About Us

Rooted in Lexington. Built for What’s Next.

As a lifelong Lexingtonian, founder Daren Turner saw something most didn’t in the 42-acre stretch of land just off Main Street—opportunity. A place full of history, sure, but also full of possibility. Once home to bustling tobacco warehouses, this site is now being thoughtfully transformed into a new kind of Lexington landmark. The water towers stay. The stories stay. But what’s coming next is entirely new.

From rezoning to restoration, our team has handled every challenge with the care and attention this city deserves. Because this project isn’t just about square footage—it’s about legacy. And about building something future generations will be proud to call their own.

TC Team

Our Mission

We’re here to create something more than a development. The Commons is a place where life, work, and play overlap naturally. Where nature and green space aren’t just afterthoughts—they’re integrated into how people experience the place. Where local partnerships and a sense of belonging guide every decision. We’re honoring Lexington’s story—while building its next chapter.

Historic Heart, Future Focus

We’re preserving key architectural elements like the original water towers while planning around smart, community-forward infrastructure—all under PUD-3 zoning, were designed for flexibility.

Strong Partnerships

From artists and architects to small business owners and tradespeople, our partners are rooted in Kentucky and committed to making The Commons a space we can all be proud of.

A Mix That Makes Sense

Our tenant mix is intentional—unique retail, forward-thinking workspaces, cultural destinations, and event programming that reflects the Lexington we know and love.

Our Team

Led by Daren Turner, our team is made up of Lexington locals who know what makes this city tick. We live here, we work here, and we’re building something that reflects our pride in this place.
